DT

Born Keith Sweeney, he earned the Moniker DeepThoughts among his friends. It later was shortened to DT 

for use as his stage name, which become synonymous with hard work and Drive, mixed with Determination.Taking on hip hop at the age of 17, Hungry for every opportunity. At the age of 19 he was introduced to Spice of Platinum Dreamz who took DT on as a ProtĂŠgĂŠ and mentored him, preparing him for life as an artist but also to understand how to manoeuver the music industry as a Business man.  After years of performing in and around Toronto, and New York, DT took the leap and took an opportunity to perform in the Caribbean. In 2008 DT Headlined the All White Party at The Holland House Hotel in Phillipsburg St. Maarten alongside DJ Outkast of Shadyville Records. 

This was the beginning of the new sound and new opportunities. Utilizing St. Maarten as the backdrop for Music DT joined a team of producers, and entertainers to share resources and build each other up. This team was the 4DH Entertainment Group, Through this team the music started circulating online as well as on terrestrial radio stations such as PJD2, PJD3, Pearl FM, LaVoix FM, SOS radio, Lazer 101, and youth Radio. The St.Maarten connection allowed DT to build his brand, and Image, while also preparing content to be showcased in Canada, and around the World. 

DT understands the Value of live performances and has been touching stages across North America opening for artists like, Christopher Martin, Jah Vinci, Gyptian, PopCaan, DJ Tony Touch, and recently Performed in ST. Maarten during the 2015 Carnival. Gaining notoriety as a performer in 2013 DT was nominated as best Hip Hop artist in the Chatty Chatty Awards, in 2014 received the Resiliency award.

During his career DT had the opportunity to work with industry heavy weights Tone Mason, Natty Beats, who were killing the game in Toronto. and the man who later became his teacher, Iauwata Amha Selassie M.D. within all of his travels, and mentors and experiences DT developed his new sound. Utilizing the raspiness and grit of his voice DT was able to provoke thought over club bangers, conscious, summer time tracks, and sometimes a love song or too. DT used his music to encourage and motivate and sometimes just to have some fun.

in 2010 DT started mentoring Tye Craig, who later became DTs main producer, who is mainly responsible for the new sounds DT has been releasing. in 2014 DT also started mentoring Kween of Kween Media who became integral in developing new media in terms of all pictures, and videos. The two have now formed an artist development company called art.is.lifeIncubator

Now in 2015 DT is the A&R for New Media Records, DT has gone From Childhood dreams, to releasing highly respected music and collaborating with amazing talent around the world. DT continues to be a monster when it comes to putting in work.
