Formed in 2005 in Pico Rivera, CA, Dub 8 has evolved into a 7-man strong original band. From the rhythm section to the horn section, they give audiences a high-energy performance each and every time. The music keeps you dancing until last call and beyond.
Dub 8 draws on numerous influences from the likes of Bob Marley, Toots & The Maytals, Oingo Boingo, Manu Chao, Mana, The Specials, Hepcat, Fishbone, Sublime, Madness and many others.
Dub 8 is special because the music they make is music for the people. This band makes a connection with their fans. For the fans, the music becomes a part of them. We call this effect "Reggae~Sol~Ska" so for Dub 8, it's not just the name of our first album, it's a movement.
Dub 8 band members are Ralph Abundes~Lead Vocal & Lead Guitar, Eric Michalak~Bass & Vocals, Frank Gonzales~Drums, Abraham Ortiz~Trombone, Carlos Zuniga III~ Trumpet, John Montes De Oca~Tenor Saxophone and Jonathan Lozano~Percussion.
