Louisville collective Dude Plays Saxophone close out this show with their brand of experimental/ambient indie pop that’s at once heavily classical and jazz influenced, deserving more than a fleeting listen or “post-rock” labeling. Fronted by the emotional punch of Derek Toney, DPS employs a cast of music school characters in their live show. The musicianship is stellar and the stage presence is as quirky as their name implies.

we have a hard time describing our music, as do others. each musician brings a very different influence to the overall sound. a variety of instruments are used both live and in studio. it has been said that we use all of these instruments both in and out of their traditional context.
