Bio

Detached from the typical figure of singer/songwriter, DuduTheSon brings us his proposal as a band in which numerous diverse musical influences converge in a style almost unlabelable, sung in the language of the Beatles.

Due to his warm voice and his acoustic nature, some have dared to call him "the mediterranean Jack Johnson ", but Dudu absolutely rejects the comparison because, although he considers the Hawaiian singer/songwriter one of his references and most admired musicians, his obvious multifaceted nature moves him away from specific comparisons.

Following an acoustic pop-rock, surf, folk... (whatever) line, we’ll find souvenirs of hip hop, grunge, flamenco, early music ... regardless of the word “fusion” just for respect to the masters of the different genres he plays with.

In 2008 DuduTheSon autoproduced a promotional EP which allowed him to get into Barcelona’s live music scene, as well as its environs and also some gig in the Iberian Peninsula.

One of the themes of this EP reached the hands of Rachel Aturia, from Cadena SER (one of the leading Spanish radio stations), who included "Look Around" as part of the soundtrack of “Parlar per parlar” (“Talking for talking's sake”), a leading audience nighttime intimate program.

In 2010 Jordi Herrero (Scanner FM, Managing Editor) recommended them as outstanding candidates for Levi's Music Awards.

It was during a music contest when Marc Molas, producer and member of the jury, became interested in the project for including it in Daruma Records catalogue, a label with a clear international vocation.

During the recording, the existing project was renewed and developed together with external collaborations, the band, producer, sound engineer and all the staff and gear of "El Tostadero" studios from Barcelona, becoming a wonderful debut album which clearly demonstrates “multistylism” made so gracefully and respectfully that encourages to, beyond hearing, feel. A fresh while warm tale, bittersweet, about deep feelings, about protests, about paying attention to detail, about love and tears; a tale of thousand colours and flavours, with a lovely ending.
The release of debut LP "Third Creek" (2011) coincides with a renewed image carefully developed by the Art Director Adam Garcia from Kunste Design Studio. Fact that along with the music it contains, makes the album desirable to collect as a wonderful piece.

The active presence on social networks has generated a national and international followers growing, especially MySpace, Facebook, YouTube (where a first shot improvised lipdub got around 200 visitors during the first week) and Twitter, where told the entire record's production through microchapters called "RecTwitts".

In October 2010, during the process of mixing, the complications of a shoulder surgery left a songwriter arm completely frozen and terribly aching, putting into serious doubt the continuation of the project.

Illusion’s power and his almost invincible fighter nature, along with a lengthy rehabilitation treatment and more than 10 pills a day, began to offer a little glimmer of hope and, even though up to now he is not at 100%, no one around him doubts about the continuity, even reinforced, of the charming Dudu’s project.

This has created an impressive expectation for the release of Third Creek and the songwriter band’s coming back to stage.
Live band is made up of guitar (acoustic and classical), bass, percussion (drums, cajón), flute and cello occasionally. A proposal that, being faithful to the multifaceted nature, is dynamic and surprising. It is a journey that passes in turn through times of laughter and moments of strong emotions.

Public reviews always include a clear expression: "Good vibes".
