Dugan and the Kendrick Road Kings

Dugan and the Kendrick Road Kings

BandBluesAdult Contemporary

Thirty plus years of songwriting, never played covers. The result is an evening's worth of tunes which have the feel of blues, rock, country, folk jazz, reggae ect. yet they retain their own distinct individuality. Dancible and easy to listen to. Very lyrical. Different yet familiar.

Biography

Bob Dugan has been writing and playing for thirty years both as a solo act and with different bands. In 2004 he began playing with the musicians who now form the Kendrick Road Kings. Their current CD has just been released and they are available for special functions and charity events.

Lyrics

Simplify

Written By: Robert Dugan

Eighty miles an hour doesn't seem too fast
when everyone else is trying to pass
I oughta change lanes or step on the gas
I think I'm slowing down

Can't keep going along at this pace
trying to keep up with the human race
looking in the mirror at an aging face
I know I'm slowing down

Chorus
It's time to simplify
It's time to make things easier
It's time to simplify
It's time to relax

Thirty more years is all I can ask
before it slips away, before I crash
I'd like to finish just one last task
in the time I'm slowing down

Forty guitars and plenty of amps
a bunch of cassettes and postage stamps
titanium torso and finger cramps
no time to slow down now

It's time to simplify
It's time to make things easier
It's time to simplify
It's time to relax

Blue Sky

Written By: Robert Dugan

Blue Sky

Blue sky looking over my shoulder
watch my life as I am getting older
Clouds come with rainy days to follow
feelings show sometimes they're hard to swallow
Blue sky you brighten up the daytime
Night falls and brings along a sweet rhyme

The life it keeps on changing, every minute goes to pass
Someone's rearranging, have to make the moments last
Future roads are traveled by the men who have a dream
Swept along by currents in the stream

Dawn comes the bird's they start their singing
wake up see what the day is bringing
Sun shines the leaves they start to glisten
move on and see what you are missing
Blue sky you brighten up the daytime
Night falls and brings along a sweet rhyme

Dancing Girl

Written By: Robert Dugan

Dancing Girl

Dancing girl, she's so fine
Dancing girl, she is so fine
and I love her, oh yeah
and I love her ya ya ya

Dancing girl moves so smooth
Dancing girl she moves so smooth
and I love her, oh yeah
and I love her ya ya ya

Dancing girl dances in the moonlight with a twinkle in her eye
doesn't know there's anyone around her as she dances with the sky
Soft as silk smooth as milk there's quicksilver in her soul
percussion and a melody just seems to make her whole
