Bio

Duke Marvelous came to life in the summer of 2009 as an electric duo on the North Bay scene. Ryan Marshall and Eric Treleaven began playing cover songs in pubs, clubs and parties around Northern Ontario where they gained a reputation as a fun, exciting party band. However the roots were put down many years prior to their meeting.

Ryan has been writing, recording, and performing music for over 10 years. He began his musical journey in Sudbury, Ontario playing with various bands throughout his high school days. Most notably the funk/rock band Fit For Kings. He moved to North Bay to attend teachers college and began performing solo around the area while continuing to write music.

Eric also started off in Sudbury Ontario. He began his musical education at Sudbury Secondary School in a specialized guitar course. He later moved to North Bay where he would continue to study music. Although not a songwriter himself, Eric has done studio work with many groups in the area including playing guitar and banjo on Craig Cardiff's Juno nominated album "Floods and Fires."

After cutting their teeth in the bar scene for several years, the pair teamed up with Juno Nominated producer and engineer Ben Leggett to record a handful of songs in the fall of 2012. They enlisted a handful of talented musicians who made up various combinations of their band over the years and got to work. The result was a collection of 5 original songs and a cover of Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music." They released the 6 new songs, as well as a handful of music Ryan had recorded in the past 10 years on an LP entitled "Ten Years, Let's Cheers."

You can find them performing original material and unique covers in the form of a duo, trio, or quartet around Ontario.
