"Pick of The Week"

"Though he was born in Nashville, it was while growing up in Chicago that Duncan discovered the likes of Coltrane, the Stones, Jaco Pastorious and Bob Marley - just to name a few of the heavy influences on his soulful grooving grab bag of music. May writes the sort of greasy, blues-influenced rock that appeals to fans of jam Southern rock and classic rock alike." --The Rage, Nashville
- All The The Rage

"Better Than Ever"

"...the singer/songwriter’s music is as strong as ever: He’s just released two albums, the alt-rock Push & Pull and the earthy, Americana-tinged This Day Coming. He spoke about inspiration, dealing with loss and the finer points of playing at the Bluebird Café. "

Bio

Duncan May has been playing music since he was ten, growing up in the rich culture of Chicago, motivated by his artistic parents.
First studying saxophone then bass, Jazz music was the focus. Soon rock music inspired songwriting and performing and the move to Nashville in 1993 started his journey in touring and recording.
Seven full length albums later and several combinations of styles and band members, Duncan is writing more songs than ever.
The genre of progressive Americana best describes the present style, but his high energy background of funk and progressive rock are just below the surface of his expressive style of composing.

Whether playing solo acoustic shows on guitar or playing bass with the band, the performance comes across as honest, entertaining and dynamic.
