Bio

Duncan first started playing music at 4 years old, winding his way through piano, fiddle, bagpipes and drums before settling on guitar as his instrument of choice. He worked in several bands through his teens as a rhythm, lead and bass guitarist, before moving to London to study at the Academy of Contemporary Music. While there, he developed a strong interest in songwriting, and after graduating in 2007 he returned to the village of Lochcarron to develop his writing and get back to his rural roots.

Playing regularly around the Highlands with the popular function band Kings of Haakon and Skye-based singer songwriter Doc Livingstone helped hone his live performance and in late 2010 Duncan began playing shows as a solo artist, using loop technology to create rich, multi-layered sounds with just an acoustic guitar and mic.

In 2011, Creative Scotland's YMI Demo Fund allowed Duncan to spend 2 days in Watercolour Music's Ardgour studio where he recorded the Five Songs EP, this was well received throughout the Highlands and achieved some national radio airplay.

Duncan is currently putting together tracks for a new release, which should be available Summer 2012.
