Duo-Twang

The untamed wilderness of Northern Ontario may be where Duo-Twang got their start, but it is the fertile soil and tempestuous skies of Manitoba's prairies that nurtured the roots of this Winnipeg-based pair. All the while, the highway that winds its way between these two landscapes carved itself into the heartwood of their music.

Drawing on some deeply personal stories and their individual observations of idiosyncratic characters met along the way, Chris and Tania explore many themes. In For the Ride, Chris takes life as it comes, despite the heartache it can bring. In That Girl, a song about self-acceptance, Tania tells of a young girl burning pages of poetry until she is “warmed by the fire of her own words.” In Can’t Hide, Chris sings about giving in to some not-so-hidden feelings. In Railroad Track, Tania waits for a lover who has left to take care of some nasty business. Between them, Chris and Tania perform over 40 original country, folk and blues inspired songs
