"Glastonbury Festival Bands Panel"

"We first saw Durban Poison play in December 2004 in Glastonbury. We had been tipped off that a special young band was in town, and being the four core members of the Glastonbury Festival Unsigned Bands Panel, we felt we should go and check them out.
Quite Frankly we were all blown away by their sheer energy, presence and charisma, as well as their seemingly never-ending repetoire of scorching tunes!
In our opinion, Durban Poison are the best, most exciting young rock band to emerge in years, and we all look forward to seeing them play at Glastonbury 2007." - Glastonbury Festival

"Global Battle of the bands, London Winners!"

"In November 2004, they won the london heat of the Global Battle of the bands, and went on to come an impressive 3rd in the National Final, out of more than 200 bands. They were only 16 and 17 at the time, and had been playing together less than four months." - -

"I have not been so excited over a new act for a very long while..."

"The energy that comes from Durban Poison's performance is as infectious as I have seen in a long, long while, and a special mention must go to their lead singer/front man, 'Tate', who seems already to be an icon for todays youth, as well as a target for teenage girls! Truly, I have not been so excited over a new act for a very long while." - John Ratcliff, former manager/producer of Ah-Ha

"impressive following..."

"Durban Poison have built such an impressive following, it's easy to forget they still have an average of 18. With over 33'000+ hits on their myspace page, and over 43'000 plays of their killer track 'Pushing you away', think move over Arctic Monkeys, its time for some Durban Poison." - First light records

Bio

Durban Poison began life as a 3-piece, aged 15 with no bass player! The only motive behind the music was to live life and have a good time. Friday night would be the night that Tate's garage would be crammed up with as many people as possible and the boys would play their whole set, which at the time was only about 8 songs. Things have come a long way since then and now the band are a 4-piece, have around 30 songs and are playing where ever they can, sucking in new fans every where they go. The amazing thing is that they are still only 18 and things have only just started.
