Bio

DVCO was formed in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2010 by Norton Bell, a musician and producer, and Diego Macedo, guitarist and journalist . After playing in local bands like Uivo (‘Howl’) and Commercial, the duo joined photographer JpAccacio and bassist Gabriel Bivanco on a project of electro-rock, characterized by a lack of drums (the group then used electronic samplers) and a mixture of different languages.

Named DVCO in honor of São Paulo’s motto ("Non Dvcor, Dvco," a Latin expression literally translated as "I am not led, I lead”), the band went on to play several shows in clubs and events in the city. The following year, DVCO recorded an eponymous EP with four original songs, receiving acclaim from the public and São Paulo's independent music media.

In 2011, the band released its EP with bigger shows, including one at the SPIndie stage at Virada Cultural (‘Cultural all-nighter’), a 24-hour outdoor mega-party featuring more than 900 acts in the city center. Furthermore, DVCO was selected for a project with new bands performed inside MIS - Museum of Image and Sound of São Paulo - with the new song "Lovely Disaster".

In 2012, the group had lineup changes, with the departure of JpAccacio output and the entrance of drummer Allan Calvo and DJ Juca Nas. In addition to the redesign, the band continuously worked for almost a year in the studio composing their debut album.

Now, DVCO returns to the stages with their 1st complete album and an innovative launch project.

TODAY!

DVCO has been working on a project that will combinee Music, Comics, Graffiti and Photography for its first album, entitled Res Furtiva. Based on their songs and the current state of São Paulo, the band created a comic book drawn by the visual artist known as “Rato.” It contains the band's lyrics and will be graffitied on walls in strategic points of the city. After, the graffiti will be released in a book of photographs by Sergio Silva, with the DVCO CD included. The project will be released simultaneously in Brazil and France by Loop Play Discos Records.

In addition, the band intends to promote the album with a traveling show through the city of São Paulo in a bus featuring the graffiti portrayed in the photography book.

The release of a video filmed by the Tietê River, one of the world's most polluted rivers. Conceived by the band and Sergio Silva, the video aims to renew attentions for environmental issues of utmost importance.
