Bio
Playful, energetic, creative, insightful, and talented are just a few words used to describe Dwayne Arvinger. Life started for this Native New Yorker in Brooklyn, where he grew up listening to artists such as the Jackson Five, Barbara Streisand, Freddy Fender, Gershwin, Donna Summer, and Elvis Presley.
Dwayne began performing at the age of eight in the musical Oliver, in which he played the title role. As he grew, so did his creativity, talents and desire to perform. Dwayne added to his list of talents poetry, and songwriting. While honing his writing skills, Dwayne continued singing with the All-City High School Chorus, and the NYC Concert Choir. Years at Manhattanville College intensified his training in acting, singing, dancing, and writing. Dwayne was ready to share his talents! Our Love is Here to Stay, Fiorello, Dreamgirls, UpsideDown, and a European Tour of Hair are a few musicals he has had the opportunity to perform in. He has also the honor to originate the role of King Buddy in The End of a Perfect Death, a musical play he also helped stage.
In the Early 90s, Dwayne met and became friends with singer/songwriter/producer Rod Clemmons, who encouraged him to write more. Soon they began writing together. After the birth of his first child, Dwayne started writing songs to help get him through the day as a stay at home dad. These songs turned into Hangin Out With My Baby, a great CD that Dwayne is excited to share with other families. And this is only the beginning
