Anthems For The Restless (2009)

Dwight Deon combines pop singer/songwriter sensibilities with early "arena rock" roots. His debut full length album "Anthems for the Restless" , released by Sound Of Pop/Fontana North/Universal Music Inc on October 27th, 2009, is a collection of songs that tells a compelling personal and musical journey that took him from humble beginnings as an east coast lobster fisherman, to the top of Canada's mainstream music & entertainment industry as a former Canadian Idol finalist.
Deon’s debut single, Volume, hit #6 on the East Coast Countdown and #66 on the Mediabase’s National Active Rock Charts and his second single "What I Am" recently climbed to #3 on the East Coast Countdown.
Seeing some moderate commercial success and a tremendous response from his growing fan base, Deon views “Anthems” as a stepping stone in his ever evolving solo career. His new material is showing a shift from that harder edged rock sound to a more mature, adult contemporary sound, while staying true to his rock roots. The desire to expand his musical horizons, style-wise, and further hone his songwriting skills are becoming increasingly apparent with every new song.
Deon signed a publishing deal with OLE, through Sound Of Pop Inc in 2009 and has already done multiple co-writing sessions in Toronto, (notables include Mladen Alexander and Paul Gigliotti) with plans of travelling to Nashville and LA, in 2011. Dwight’s goal, besides increasing his own catalog, is to co-write for other artists and develop an even stronger reputation as a songwriter.
