The Original Socio-Political Hardcore PowerFunksters.

The Original Fort Greene Bed-Stuy Socio-Political Hardcore PowerFunksters. True Black American music from the Socio-political point of view of four extremely talented and creative musical personalities. Formed in 1985 by drummer Mike Machado and original bassist Fritz Reid, D-XTREME was conceived as a means to create “music taken to the extreme”. 1987 enter Stanley Brown on guitars and Kumasi, vox populi. 1994 welcomed the addition of bassist A.J. Cresswell. This current line-up represents the harmonious hybrid of hard funk and hard guitars. The collective influences of D-XTREME are vast, ranging from and not limited to: Bad Brains, Parliament funkadelic, James Brown, Kiss, Sun Ra, Thelonious Monk, Romare Bearden, Duke Ellington, Kool And The Gang, Langston Hughes, Earth Wind and Fire, Black Sabbath, etc…… you get the idea. Basically, the extreme opposite of what was and is currently masquerading as music on commercial New York radio.

D-XTREME has extensively toured Europe and both coasts of the U.S.
After the international and limited domestic release of “The Truth Shall Be Told” D-XTREME independently released “Symbiosis”.
Individually the members of D-XTREME have extensive international/domestic touring and work experience.
