This song kicked my ass and left me lying exhausted in a pool of synthy melancholy the first time I heard it, and every listen since has continued to do a number on my brain with a minimalist package of warm and wavering synths, distant guitar echoes, and subtle siren-whines that pop up intermittently like whispering reminders of memories receding further and further into the past. An untamed sax springs to life near the end to add a dash of hope to the equation, but these six minutes feel like rewinding through an entire lifetime of lost love and lament. - Indie Shuffle
‘St. James’ has the kind of simple, plotting beat that could run for miles and never run out of fuel. Thankfully, DYAN - the project of Alexis Marsh, Sam Jones and Daniel Dorff Jr. - don’t deal with simplicity. They throw gorgeous, simple oddities in at every opportunity. This is like The War on Drugs if you stripped things down to the barest of bones. - DIY
DYAN‘s “Days Upon Days” is your classic indie pop song with a modern production twist. The voice is mesmerizing. The supplemental plucks are melodically pleasing. The underlying zipper- like synths in the beginning and middle of the song serve to smoothen all your rough edges. Listen to it now!
DYAN‘s “Days Upon Days” is the perfect track to walk out into that nice summer sun!
I don’t think anyone can hate “Days upon days” except, of course, the haters. But haters gon’ hate and DYAN’s gon make… You dance up and down with a grin on your face!! Breathe in some fresh air and add a dose of DYAN to your day. - High Clouds
