DYING TRUTH BIOGRAPHY
Music is the Voice of God speaking to the masses.
There’s no better example of this statement than rising Christian rock band Dying Truth. Not only do they believe the statement, they live it! All four members, Adam Sewell (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Bryan Norris (lead guitar), Freddy Marsh (bass guitar) and Eric Wooten (drums), are dedicated to reaching the masses for Jesus with their music.
Dying Truth began by God’s divine appointment with the meshing of two separate Christian alternative metal bands, 3 Times Driven and Catchfire.
3 Times Driven was the Northeast Alabama based band led by Sewell of Geraldine. The band relentlessly shared their music with fans from Alabama to Virginia to Tennessee to Arkansas. They participated in “Battle of the Bands” around the Southeast and scored a win at Zydeco of Birmingham’s Competition. After years of performing, the members of 3 Times Driven felt a desire to individually pursue higher callings.
“3 Times Driven was a God-send for me. Being in the band allowed me to follow my heart and share God’s word with many,” said Sewell. “Dying Truth will allow me to continue doing that in bigger ways.”
Catchfire, based in Cullman, Alabama, began when Marsh felt God’s calling to start a band. Teaming with his cousin John Bailey, Catchfire was formed and they began practicing in his basement. They eventually started playing public gigs and vocalist Bryan Norris was added to the mix. As with 3 Times Driven, the members of Catchfire had a desire to pursue higher callings and the band split up.
The two bands played numerous gigs together throughout their careers and the friendship began to flourish.
“It was just a nature friendship,” said Marsh. “God places people in our lives for a reason and there’s not a better person to partner with in this calling.”
Immediately when both bands felt “higher callings,” Marsh and Sewell began to ponder the calling. The result: Dying Truth.
