Many people tell stories with their music...they have a beginning and an end, my songs have neither. I paint pictures with my songs that give a glimpse into the insignificant lives of people you see every day. My songs force people think about the deeper story behind a stranger's day to day life.

Biography

Dylan Addington's music is difficult to categorize at best. Though his closest comparisons would have to be Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson, his sound is completely different and has an almost eerie, melancholic overtone that is hard to ignore. His music reaches deep down into the realm of human emotion that we experience in day to day life and is able to make it almost tangible.
The son of a country western musician, Addington draws much of his inspiration from the country and rock'n roll music of the early 50's and 60's...but don't let that fool you. His music is very modern and displays his ability to create catchy melodies and lyrics on par with the great John Hiatt.

Lost My Way

Written By: Dylan Addington

Trapped inside a little world
Reigned by those of smaller
minds
A friend cast down in troubled times
Forced to wear the mark of
Cain

I think I've lost my way
I can't see the light of day
There's no one
here to save me
And take me somewhere safe

There's something familiar about
it all
In this unforgiving place
My world is growing colder
As heaven hides
her face
I think I've lost my way

Once a friend who fell from grace
Pushed
away in bitter pain
A broken heart, a battered soul
Bleeding as they throw
their stones

I think I've lost my way
I can't see the light of day
There's
no one here to save me
And take me somewhere safe

There's something
familiar about it all
In this unforgiving place
My world is growing
colder
As heaven hides her face
I think I've lost my way

Why do they fight
me
And despise me
The one they used
To call their own

I thought they
loved me
And stood beside me
The one they used
To call their friend

Where's My Angel Now?

Written By: Dylan Addington

Her daddy holds her head,
He tries not to cry

The doctor
said she has only so much time

The same sickness took
Her mamma's
life

Doesn't know how to tell her
She's gonna die

Feeling so alone
As
he bears the pain
Of watching his girl
Slowly fade away

Where's my angel
now
When I need her most?
Where's this world of miracles
That I believed for
so long?
I thought anything was possible
If I'd believe and just hold
on.

Soon she's too tired
To go out and play

He reads her fairy tales
To
help pass the days

He knows her time is near
As his hope falls away

He
kisses her and says
It'll be okay

Feeling so alone
As he bears the
pain
Of watching his girl
Slowly fade away

Where's my angel now
When I
need her most?
Where's this world of miracles
That I believed for so long?
I
though anything was possible
If I'd believe and just hold on.

Nothing I can
do
God this can't be true
Far too young to die
God this isn't right
Can't
you hear my prayers?
Can't you feel our pain?
How dare you expect me to
believe in You?

Where's my angel now
When I need her most?
Where's this
world of miracles
That I believed for so long?
I thought anything was
possible
If I'd believe and just hold on.
