Dylan Moses delivers big-time on this itsy-bitsy bit of a holiday album. Save Me Santa is actually just four tracks, and the title cut lasts 4:28 and is the only holiday-related number. Still, there is relatively little rock music that falls four-square in the holiday music category, and this passionate singer-songwriter has a winning style in every respect: his lyrics have intelligence and a natural flow; his music is catchy, yet complex; and his emotive voice is classic, hitting all the right notes. In addition to his great vocals, Moses applies some very impressive guitar riffs.

Plain and simple, "Save Me Santa" is a terrific, rockin' Christmas number. As soon as I played it the first time, I replayed it several times, listening to the lyrics and swinging to the beat. Caught in its spell, I was eager to hear more. The next cut, "I Bothered," is a very touching song about war, sacrifice, and freedom. The entire CD is a sweet discovery. What a lovely, albeit tiny, package!

Experiencing Dylan Moses here may well give you the hunger for more of his fine rock music. Although his Santa number is just the smallest slice of holiday music in a season otherwise cluttered with major Christmas releases, Save Me Santa may be just the rescue you need from the December doldrums.
