The Dynamic Twins, also known as D2, have caught the attention of the hip-hop world. The two brothers created their act on the streets of New York in the Bronx during the early 80’s as the break dance craze was sweeping the nation. They relocated to California and released their first album “Word 2 the Wise” in 1991 on Epic Records, which met with a quick response. Their solid hip-hop grooves and energetic live shows have won them a huge following. They immediately began touring with the top Christian artists DC Talk and The Newsboys. The Twins have also opened-up for : Phillip Bailey, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Crystal Lewis and Audio Adrenaline. D2 charted at #13 on the billboard charts with their second album, “No Room 2 Breathe”. That was followed with two more successful albums that secured their status as pioneers of Christian hip-hop who are very well respected in the industry. Three of the four albums were nominated for Dove Awards, and their most recent album went to #25 on the billboard charts for radio play. In collaboration with Rocket Ismail, former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, D2 formed a group called 3 Sons of Thunder. They performed at a super bowl gospel jam, at a half time show for the Dallas Desperados for 30,000 live and on nationwide TV. They also appeared on the Best Damn Sports Show Period, and did a show at the Hard Rock Cafe. They did a show with WC from well-known rap group West Side Connection (including ice cube and Mack 10) and well-known rapper Nocturnal. They also performed with Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Curt Carr and the Curt Carr Singers. Recently they released a mainstream album called “The Reign Cometh”. The Twins have received several nominations for Dove awards including production on SFC’s album: Phase III, and Dynamic Twins albums No Room to Breathe, Word 2 the Wise, and 40 Days in the Wilderness. No Room to Breathe also received a Black Gospel Award. Brothers Noel and Robbie have built a foundation of catchy, danceable hooks, top notch rapping and have added a little more crunch to the mix. In this new project they deal with more personal themes and issues. They have performed at concerts and festivals from coast to coast such as: Creation, Cornerstone, SuperFest, and LA ’94 to wildly enthusiastic crowds. The name Dynamic Twins is certainly no misnomer for this hip-hop duo. They are indeed a powerful force to be reckoned with. The Twins are currently producing their next album titled “It’s Not Done” The area also producing other hip hop and R&B groups who will hit the market soon.
