Multi-instrumentalist Cole Benoit, whom you may know from heavy bands such as Anion, Phemut and Dead Again, where played bass and/or did vocals, is also a well-established solo with his synth project Dynastes.
Heavily laden in vintage synth tones, the music in Dynastes takes cues from 80’s sci-fi and horror soundtracks, new wave, krautrock, early industrial, 70’s prog and darksynth to craft a dense and engaging experience, steeped in tradition yet also far in the future.
With three albums and an EP in his catalogue, as well as some soundtrack work, his latest release “Fragments of Memories” is dark and brooding – at times heavy and distorted whilst also displaying moments of solemn stillness and ambience.
