Bio
"Dzyn, brought to you One-Nine-Eight-One!"
This 24 year old artist is one of the most well-rounded in the nation, let alone the south. With a style unlike anyone else from his South Carolina hometown, Winnsboro, it's no surprise that Dizzy has gained the attention of all types of listeners' around the upper- and lower parts of the Khak. Influenced greatly by rap legend Jay-Z, Dzyn's music hits on topics that are regular to the present-day rap game. Dzyn commented, "It's not finding something new to talk about. I mean, people dont feel something that they know aint real. So I aint about finding something new in the game... I'm about taking that same everyday scene of the hood, the struggle, the grind, and making it new... you know, put my own twist on it." And that's exactly what he's been doing. His "own twist" is evident throughout his debut album, "Carolina... The Soundtrack", which was released in April of 2005. The album, a 13-track project, does an excellent job of telling Dzyn's story of how he got to where he is now and also sheds light on some of his aspirations for the future. Experimenting with several different sounds and feels on this debut album, Dzyn's album is very diverse from the conventional rap cd. Much of this diversity stems from the fact that Dzyn produced several of the beats himself, such as "I'mma Ride" & "Let's Go". Even with such a different sound from the norms of rap, listener's cant help but relate with the genuine lyrics and addictive beats provided by King Karolina himself, Dzyn.
