Hollywood Music Examiner stopped by on fight night to get an exclusive one on one interview with E- Roc Young the rap artist and music producer hailing from the Los Angeles area to discuss his latest project The Family. E-Roc Young is a well rounded person who wears several hats he is a father, record label owner, community activist, and recording artist. Not only has E-Roc Young earned a degree in Recording Arts he comes from a family that has been successful in music. E-Roc Young nephew of the late great producer/ song writer Bobby Day,who recorded three songs that are seen today as rock and roll classics.Day's best known songwriting efforts were "Over and Over" made popular by the Dave Clark Five in 1965 and "Little Bitty Pretty One" popularized by Thurston Harris in 1957, Clyde McPhatter in 1962 and the Jackson Five in 1972. and his 1958 solo recording of the Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit, "Rockin' Robin". 

  E-Roc Young was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles California. Growing up in a neighborhood where gang bangin was a part of life, he had to learn how to maneuver on the streets of his community. He experienced what most black young men experience in the hoods throughout the inner cities of America; incarceration, gangs, crime, etc. But what E-Roc also had were two parents who adored him, and a deep love of and talent for Music. 

  Having his parents teach him the importance of giving back to his community, E-Roc also grew up being very active in contributing positively to his neighborhood, He has volunteered to feed and care for the homeless, drug addicts and alcoholics on downtown L.A. Skid Row. His charitable spirit continued into his adulthood where he has worked and volunteered at Unity Three Community Center in South Central L.A., where he gave talks of encouragement and support to encourage youth in his community from participation in gangs, drugs and criminal behavior. 

  He has performed at charity events throughout California. He is a regular at the annual Hollywood Christmas toy drive. Additionally, he has been featured in several online magazines and numerous radio programs, both terrestrial and internet online formats. E-Roc has appeared at numerous fundraising parties in his community and neighborhood, using his talent to encourage youth to reach for their dreams and not give up. He is an active and positive force in the lives of his two sons and young daughter. 

  After getting his feet wet as an ‘MC’, earning respect in the underground HIP-HOP scene, and after successfully producing “8” mixtape CDs, including, ‘The Ghetto Don’ 'We All We Got' & 'My Story 1, 2 Feat, Underground Legend, Ke-Ke Loco, Cash Money's Glasses Malone and Long Beach Cities own Bo Roc from the Dove Shack ’. With tracks produced by some Grammy Award Winners such as Rocwilder, Teddy Bishop and Jazze Pha to name a few. He then went back to school to obtain his AA in The Recording Arts. E-Roc has now developed into a seasoned artist who is ready for the main stream. His remarkable ability to paint a picture and tell a story with his words and music, make him a talent to be heard.
