""probably the most original sounding heavy-rock act since Karnivool.""

Wait for it. Heavy Rock and Roots music? A rather dubious description, admittedly. Still, take the freakily talented musicianship of the drummer, guitarist and bass-player from defunct Byron Bay sports-metal act Hot muffin, add the soulful powerful vocals of folk/acoustic roots singer Casey Dean to the mix, and you end up with probably the most original sounding heavy-rock acts since Karnivool. But where the aforementioned can be cold and clinical sounding at times, Engine Three Seven are a warmer, more organic beast. Mark our words, now they've moved to Melbourne, these Byron dudes really are the next big thing. Showcasing their startling range and smooth fusion of roots and riffage, be sure to catch Engine Three Seven this Tuesday April 22 at Revlover at 9pm sharp. - Beat Magazine, Melbourne
