Eagle Creek

Eagle Creek

Eagle Creek is a traditional bluegrass band from East Tennessee. A bluegrass band for all ages that love what they do. Humor, stories behind the music, and audience participation are all a part of the show that is full of the best bluegrass songs everyone knows and loves.

The core of Eagle Creek is a belief that embodies living everyday to it's fullest. We love to share bluegrass music with the audiences and have fun doing it. Harold Turner is a cancer survivor and his message to everyone is a message of hope and happiness for everyday we are blessed with. Harold is an uncle to Joey and Jeff Ellison and together with Jimmy Swatsell they provide a great blend of excellent seasoned musicianship. No it's not an optical illusion, Harold plays his guitar left-handed and upsidedown.

Harold has hosted the Sunday Afternoon Gospel Hour on a local radio station going on 35 years. He has rarely missed a Sunday broadcast in that entire amount of time even through his sickness years ago. Harold has opened and played shows with about every bluegrass legend you can think of. The rest of the band has been with other bands who have opened shows for the greats such as Ralph Stanley, Doyle Lawson, The Cherryholmes, The VW Boys, and many other great bands. Eagle Creek had the honor of opening a concert last summer ahead of Mountain Heart.

Eagle Creek is a very versatile band talent-wise. Any vocal member can sing lead and the others back up with harmony vocals at any given time. This ability also allows us to continue to play shows in case any member is a "little under the weather-vocally".

Eagle Creek is currently working on their newest CD entitled "Breakin Out". They are also planning a full gospel-bluegrass release shortly after entitled "The Only Way".
