"EarMode makes Louisiana debut at Natal's on Saturday"

BY JOHN PERKINS
SLIDELL SENTRY-NEWS

SLIDELL - They've been making fans worldwide with the release of their debut CD. Now fans in Slidell and the surrounding area can get up close and personal with EarMode as they bring their music to Natal's on Pontchartrain Drive on Saturday March 19 for two rockin' shows.

We talked with Pat Nikolas earlier this week and he told us that EarMode, the Louisiana/Mississippi-based rockers, are looking forward to this Slidell date which will be a CD release party for this area. Said Nikolas, "Our CD 'Now Hear This' has already been getting a lot of airplay on college radio stations all over the country and abroad." Colleges including Oregon State, USC, Georgia State, Delaware, and Memphis State have been giving the CD plenty of exposure to listeners Over in Hawaii, KTUH in Honolulu had the CD at number seven in its top ten listing the week of February 14. "We have also been getting good vibes from Station 3RRR in Australia and here in our own backyard, WTUL at Tulane University has been giving it some solid airtime," said Nikolas.

EarMode is made up of four talented musicians who have earned the title of "The Bad Boys of Rock and Roll". Pat Nikolas, who calls Slidell home, plays the keyboard and harmonica as well as doing the lead vocals. Mark Damian is on bass, Reggie Hudson soars on lead guitar and Dale McDonald keeps the beat from his place behind the drums. On Saturday night, visitors to Natal's can expect to hear them at their rockin' best as they introduce "Now Hear This" to a Louisiana audience for the very first time.

The CD was recorded at Holly House Recording Studios with Clyde Holly as the producer. "We were happy that Holly was to be the producer," said Nikolas. "After all, it was at his studio that Three Doors Down recorded their first hit

'Kryptonite' and it went all the way to number one nationwide. We can only hope that our record will do the same thing."

EarMode is a diverse rock band that captivates with heart-pounding explosive power. Said Nikolas "Your body will literally rumble and vibrate from the bass, keys and percussion and your head will spin from exuberant guitar riffs that blow the mind. Vocals come alive, the sound is full and the feeling is phenomenal." he said.

EarMode will play two sets on Saturday night beginning at 10 p.m. With the main focus of the evening being on the CD release plus they will perform several songs from their upcoming second album scheduled for release later this year. It promises to be a great evening of rock and roll at Natal's Lounge on Pontchartrain Drive.
