Bio

Five guys in a van has been the story of Earthborn for the last year. Never ones to miss out on a chance to play in front of people, Earthborn’s work and travel ethic is never in question. After receiving a call from Dreamscapers Artist Management to play a much coveted showcase at the South By South West just a few days before the event, Earthborn mobilized and drove the 52 round trip hour drive to Austin, TX just to play one show. This is just one event. Others include the Midwest Music Summit, clubs along the east coast and features on various radio stations including airplay on over 150 stations nationwide. Earthborn will continue to make movements in the industry and clubs nationwide!
Rising above the tired bar-rock oriented Baltimore music scene, Earthborn is a modern rock band determined to spread the emotion of their music and their message across the globe. With influences ranging from soothing classical to devastating metal, with song writing styles from deeply emotional to straight up rock, Earthborn blends the best of their collective knowledge to form a new breed of music.
Backing the band, Mike Pritchet delivers powerful, precise, yet groove-oriented beats. His versatility and music background of numerous genres provide Earthborn with their unique song flow. Bassist Troy Nagle and his distinct approach to song writing on his instrument bring the band a rhythm and pulse unheard of from any other band in their genre. Guitarists Jeff Klein and Ted Tyler combine rich harmonies with mind-bending sonic distortion to create a sound that is both brutal and serene. Topping off the lineup is vocalist Ben Guarino. With vocals that can sound sorrowful yet uplifting, hauntingly beautiful yet viciously powerful, he rounds out the Earthborn sound, creating an environment that makes you question and believe all at once.
Since it’s conception, Earthborn has always been about music for the sake of music. When formed in 2003, songs were very aggressive, very metal influenced and were starting mosh-pits all over the Baltimore area. Shows were played at The Recher Theatre, The Ottobar, Fletchers and more. Earthborn released their first EP “Time In Oblivion” with engineer Mike Bossier of Spine and Audio Terror Regime. With more songs developing – an full length was recorded with Drew Mazurek of such credits as Nothingface, Godhead, Linkin Park (remixes), Godhead, Gwar and more. Eventually as the band members became more and more accustomed to each other and their writing styles, much experimentation took place and music began to spew forth that was a true conglomerate of several creative minds. Former vocalist Ben Guarino departed to pursue other endeavors and Dave Nenner from local band To A Science took the spotlight.
