My Children's Eyes

My Children’s Eyes
Written by E. Faires, A. Améy 10/16/07

Verse:
It’s too late for me to be an astronaut
It’s too late to join a band
It’s too late to be the captain of a team
Or senior class president

It’s too late to get a medical degree
And operate to save a life
It’s too late climb atop the highest tree
And make believe that I can fly

Chorus I:
But, oh, when I look into my children’s eyes
There’s hope it seems for outrageous dreams
And, oh, even though it’s much to late for me
No, it’s not too late for them

Verse:
It’s too late for me to practice everyday
To be a concert pianist
It’s too late for me to pass the bar exam
And fight crime with an iron fist

I can’t change the opportunities I’ve missed
And I don’t have one regret
‘Cause if all the best of me I gave to them
Then you ain’t seen nothin’ yet

Bridge:
I’ll dedicate my life to making sure that everything
They say they want to be is not out of their reach
I’ll help keep every dream alive and give them
Every opportunity to succeed, ‘cause they’re everything to me

Chorus II:
‘Cause, oh, I see all the things I could have been
The endless possibilities
And, oh, I get teary eyed now and then
Thinking ‘bout all that they could be

Chorus I:
But, oh, when I look into my children’s eyes
There’s hope it seems for outrageous dreams
And, oh, even though it’s much to late for me
It’s not for them, no, not for them

Go Down

Written By: Eric Faires, Anthony D. Amey 10/17/07

Verse I:
The troubles of life have been getting me down
Oh, just thinking about the tears I’ve shed when there’s no one around
And I’ve been praying and waiting on my knees is where I live
But I don’t see a light at the end of my tunnel and something’s go t to give
So I’ve been praying for a place of release
To ease this load off my mind

Hook:
I think I’m gonna go down
Down by the shore now
Down by the sea

Verse II:
Oh, it sometimes rains and it falls on us all
And I can’t spend time wishing that it didn’t rain at all
But my soul gets weary and my body gets tired
And the pressure is heavy when it’s down to the wire
‘Cause I’ve been yearning for a place of release
To ease the load off my mind

Hook:

Verse III:

So the next time you’re facing a storm in your life
And the waves keep on crashing until there’s no end in sight
And it’s gotten so dark that you have no idea where open door is
That’s when I think you need to go down to wherever your shore is
‘Cause you’ve been searching for a place of release
To ease the load off your mind

Hook:

Vamp:

Go down, Shore now, By the sea
(repeat)

Tongue Tied

Written By: Anthony D. Amey, Wendell Wellman, Emanuel Write

Verse I:
Girl from the first time that I saw you in my neighborhood all I could do was stare / you moved in three doors down from me I saw how fine you were from ‘way over there / that night I had a dream I introduced myself and was the man of your dreams / but when I tried to say a smooth line to you I just couldn’t say a thing

Chorus:
I don’t know what to say to you (there is no denying that it’s true) / I don’t know what to say to you (so intimidated by you) (repeat)

Verse II:
I did the first thing I could think of and walk away like you weren’t on my mind / knowing all I could do was kick myself for being so damn shy / maybe I’ll find a way to say something to you, but all I can do is try / my homies tell me what to say, but when I see you I get so tongue tied ‘cause I

Chorus:

Rap:

My heart racing, my tongue twisted, my speech slurring
Contomplating whether or not to approach this woman
Bubbles in my stomach, a bad girl, if I toss some cash I wonder if I could have her
But I take a step back for a breather, damn, I wonder if she noticed that I seen her
I take a look in her eyes she stares back non chalontly and my charm made her want me
You say you’re lonely just say you want me cause…

…girl you’re on my mind and I don’t know what to say to you

Chorus:

So Attracted

Written By: Anthony D. Amey, Wendell Wellman

Verse I:
Your perfect skin / the color of cinimon / I’ve never been / this deep in love / your lovely hair / girl it’s everywhere / just stay right there / and let me look at you / the shape you make / makes me do a second take / girl make no mistake / I think you’re so damn fine / So amazing that’s what you are to me / So breathtaking you catch me off guard you see / I think I’m so attracted
Chorus:
So Attracted (repeat)
Verse II:
When we make love / we fit hand in glove / I can’t get enough / of your sweet caress / you’re heaven sent / and for me you were meant / everywhere I went / you were by my side / your sexy smile / and, ooh your trendy style / stay for a while / here with me / (So amazing) that’s what you are to me / (So breathtaking) you catch me off guard you see / I’m so attracted

Recipe For Love

Recipe For Love
Written by Eric Faires, Anthony D. Amey 12/13/07

We’ve got love in our plans, we’ve got hope in our plans
You are me, I am you, you are all that I do
That I think that I say, that’s why everyday
From the moment I wake, for this recipe’s sake
We will toss in a dash (passion, affection, devotion)
Mix in and mash (tenderness, joy and emotion)
Emulsify (kindness, attraction and loyalty)
Then let it rise (happiness, romance, fidelity)

So we’ll mix in a heap full of joy and laughter
Stir in a teaspoon of forever after
Pour on the patients, there’s never enough
This is the ultimate recipe for love

So we’re cooking up love with all of our might
And we sample and taste ‘til we get it just right
‘Til they marvel in awe at the love that we made
It appeals to the eyes, to the touch, to the taste

‘Cause we’ve tossed in a dash (passion, affection, devotion)
Mixed in and mashed (tenderness, joy and emotion)
Emulsified (kindness, attraction and loyalty)
Then let it rise (happiness, romance, fidelity)

Mix in a heap full of joy and laughter
Stir in a teaspoon of forever after
Pour on the patients, there’s never enough
This is the ultimate recipe for love

We’ll never starve in this relationship
We’re cooking up forever stew
So when something about our love just isn’t right
We know just what we’ve gotta do

We’ll just Mix in a heap full of joy and laughter
Stir in a teaspoon of forever after
Pour on the patients, there’s never enough
This is the ultimate recipe for love
