The debut release from Music New Brunswick Award winners Eastcoast Love Story is a five-song EP that sees the group proudly wear their roots-inspired influences on their sleeves, namely early Blue Rodeo (Outskirts and Diamond Mine-era) and former Moncton-based band Basic English. Eastcoast Love Story’s ability to craft concisely written songs bursting with energy helps the group showcase a songwriting maturity that extends well beyond their years. Kicking off with the twangy “Cold, Cold World” and wrapping up less than 20 minutes later with “Train,” this is an EP that will undoubtedly warrant repeated listens. - Ken Kelley

Eastcoast Love Story is folk music turned up to 11. Songs evoking images of love in the frozen north, life on the road, and the hardscrabble experience of modern Maritime culture are brought to life by a band who draw from a sonic palette of surf, outlaw country and indie-rock. Their debut EP and busy touring schedule (including an appearance alongside legends Blue Rodeo) recently earned them the title of Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2015 Music New Brunswick Awards.
