Bio
Ten years of playing in New York is what defines Eastern Exposure. The backdrop of Gotham has tempered their style that leaves room for hypersonic jams that make you think a little while you feel compelled to get down to their groove. Rooted in a classic rock sensibility, their compositions contain elements of rock, jazz, funk and soul that give the tunes a familiar yet unique flavor that makes them surpass the sea of talent in this town.
Ten years ago Matt, Bill and Dennis began jamming together to blow off some steam, introduced by a mutual acquaintance that was also in the band. Ed came along in 2006 through a well placed Craigslist ad, and added his songs to the mix and they went into the studio to record a 5 song EP. After gigging steadily they added another vocalist, Paloma in early 2009 and she immediately made her presence known with her powerful voice and unique songwriting style.
They have gigged at venues all across the city at locales like Sullivan Hall, Kenny's Castaways, the Underscore, the C-Note, ICU Bar and Tin Lizzie, and the Central Park Band Shell. They have also played in Providence Rhode Island with the legendary Buddy Cage on pedal steel guitar.
With four songwriters, they have amassed a catalog of songs that enable them to compose setlists that are as varied as their influences. Their iPods are tuned to artists like the Grateful Dead, Phish, Umphrey's McGee, Bob Dylan, Prince, Stevie Wonder and the Beatles. Eastern Exposure is ready to get everyone Exposed, and down with their groove.
