Bio

Based in Doddridge county West Virginia, East Run formed in 1997 playing parties, fairs, festivals, bars and halls all over West Virginia and beyond. Over the years an eclectic mix of bluegrass based music has emerged. All the members have performed in bands playing many genres of music such as: blues, rock, punk, country, heavy metal and swing. With a varied musical background and strong vocal harmony, the group is able change up their song list to cater to just about any audience.

Kevin Means has been with the band since its beginning. He is an excellent song writer, tenor vocalist and plays a fine Gibson mandolin. Jeff Powell has previously played with many notable bands including the Neon Cactus Band. Jeff has written many of East Run’s original tunes, plays a slightly customized Martin HD-28 and also plays harmonica. David Swallop is a talented player of the piano, fiddle, guitar and many other instruments. He plays a 1952 Kay bass and occasionally plays fiddle with the band. Wayne Woods is originally from Taylor county West Virginia and got started in music playing bluegrass with his father. Wayne sings lead vocal on many tunes and plays a Frank Neat banjo.

East Run has performed at many venues and events including the North Bend Bluegrass festival in Cario WV, Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival in Morehead KY, Nutter Fort Blackberry Festival in Clarksburg WV, Bourbon and Bluegrass Festival in Franklin Kentucky, Salem Apple Butter Festival in Salem WV, The Purple Fiddle in Thomas WV, Tyler County Fair, Tyler Co. WV, Marriott Ranch, Hume VA and Jerry Run Theater in Cleveland WV.
