"Wat's Luv" Really?
Youth Leader Avery Kelleher is a school teacher @ the Wilmington Alternative School, in Wilmington, Delaware. Avery's next topic of study for his kids, is "Abstinence & Proper Relationship." Avery will be using Eastwood's song "Wats Luv" from his second album "Christian: Name vs. Way of Life," where Eastwood dedicates the entire song to Abstaining from having sex with a woman, because it is fornication and a sin against God. Avery will be using the song in order to show the proper way a relationship should be conducted between a man and woman outside of marriage.

- for those few who do not know about you, tell us about yourself
1. My name is Eastwood. I'm a gospel rap recording artist, also a producer & writer, from Los Angeles, California - COMPTON to be exact. My mission is to change lives and save souls with every song that God creates through me.
- In your work I noticed the importance of lyrics, what you think of the hip hop industry
2. I believe that outside of the beat, a Artist lyrics are very important, if not key - to the success of not only a great song but that particular Artist. Lyrics can make or brake you! I think the industry was built on great musical compositions (lyrics & beats). Not these 1 hit wonders but people and groups that actually have substance in their records. Lyrics are what builds the relationship between Artist & Fan. When a Fan can relate with you then he/she feels like they know you even better (like you are apart of their family) & you become a part of them and their lives.
- the quality of sound is constant in your work, with important collaborations for example dj DJ_Battlecat, what do you think of your musical collaboration ?
3. Battle Cat & I are a match made in Heaven. We have a Dre & Snoop vibe & anointing that transcends through the music. Its important that God is well represented musically & I think thats an area a lot of gospel rappers & rappers or Artist period, fail terribly. You must give the people somthing to dance, bob their head, roll, ride, or walk to. If the beats not knock'n 9 times out of 10 neither are you! So my colaborationwas & is the key ingredient to making Eastwood a household name
- from a few weeks you issued with a new cd: "Street Game", what are the innovations or differences from last work :"the ride"
4. Well Street Game is my 4th album & in my opinion, its my best! Again God anointed Battle Cat, AP, & myself to construct & create musical compositions that definately hit, touch, & heal the soul. I call it soul food/truth music because thats exactly what you are getting. the difference in the 2 records I would say, is the maturity shown in my style of choice per song, as well as musically we were all on something else. The Ride was a great record, but Street Game is the next level, or 4 or 5, up from that!
- I listened "Street Game" I think there is a greater musical maturity I might very reflective and smooth, what do you think?
5.Yea, we kept it laid back, smooth, charismatic, & charming. Its all character! I'm an Actor by trade so its fun, easy, & simple to me to put & add Eminem like antics to certain songs & verses. But that Snoop Dogg feel of delivery always gets them! HAHAHA...
- Your kind of music is also defined Christian rap or gospel rap, what do you mean ?
6. Well everyone has a category or title for everything. When they say Christian or Gospel Rap, that means mussical compositions that denote, reflect, uplift, & praise God for all & everything. Music & lyrics that bring awareness to the Kingdom of God & show how Jesus has helped us in & out of every good & bad situation.
- I see between the new producers of "Street Game the great Amplified, what did you think of his work in perspective ?
7. Amplified played a huge role on my last album The Ride. He did such a great job, bringing a bang'n, musical, jazzy sound to my record. He complements Battle Cat's work so well, sometimes its hard to depict who produced what. He's a seasoned genius with his arrangements & I would be a fool not to put him on Street Game. I think next I'll give him a record all to hisself.
- what do you know about Hip Hop in Europe ? you know to be very popular here in Italy ?
8. a) For what I've seen & heard, rap is huge in Europe & I'm greatful & appreciative for my acceptance, & glad to be apart of such a vass & rapidly growing market.
b) Italy is 1 of my top 3 places in the world & I'm honored to be revered in high regard, in a beautiful & Georgeous Country, as it is.
- what do you expect of the future?, project, tour, tell us?
9. 1 I plan to come to Italy real soon! But on another scale & even bigger than that, I want to bring Jesus to the world & parts that have no clue about Him or His message. You can expect nothing different from me but more of the same thing - banging music & great lyrics! I'm going to keep climbing the ladder & mountain, & keep pushing for God! Born and raised in Los Angeles, California this minister of music is now making his mark for God in the Gospel arena. At the tender age of 7 years old, he wrote his first rap song about a young girl playmate. By the age of 10, he felt God calling him to the ministry at his church, but was reluctant to give in. Eastwood explains, "I knew what I was doing Monday through Sunday, and I Knew I could not get up on Sunday and preach to anybody until I was truly able to represent God."
Eastwood knew one day he would come to be a minister, but soon found himself in the middle of the secular rap game. By 19, he had received offers from some of the top rap labels in the industry. His skills were always evident by his following and from other rappers in the industry. Eastwood quickly saw what his life would be like if he continued down this path but tenaciously preserved to complete his album despite people's wishes. It was not long before he let God cut in and take control of his gift.
Now a licensed minister and anointed by God's word, he has answered the calling and has brought the younger generation of gospel to an entire new level. His new found mission in life is, "to change lives and save souls with every aspect of my music, from the beats to the ad-libs," says Eastwood. As he continues to blow the listeners away with his metaphors, and mind-boggling lyrics, you will feel the anointing on every track! His story lines will make you press your ear to the speaker just to hear every word! Eastwood states, "I'd rather sell no albums and save 1 soul with my message, than sale 1 million albums and we all go to hell listening to it."
Also when he is not in the studio creating classics, you will be able to catch him on television displaying his talented ability to act. His acting credits dates back over the last 20 years, and he looks to be a dominant figure in the next 20 years to come. This indeed is a talented and blessed individual that the world must and will recognize as a "MAN TRULY SENT BY GOD."
