Eat Your Birthday Cake
Introducing: Eat Your Birthday Cake. Philly drops another band with a cool freaking name; Eat Your Birthday Cake are the duo of Bill Storck and Marc Neibauer. They've just released their new EP called I Know You Can, which is strong strong strong. File under: intimate electronica/ambient pop. Closest thing I can think of this reminds me of is Loney Dear; EYBC list Brian Eno, Lou Reed and Jens Lekman as some of their diverse influences. Set this song for repeat.

Bio
Eat Your Birthday Cake doesn’t sing songs about pretty girls, broken hearts or hating their parents. Created as a reaction to what songwriters Bill Storck and Marc Neibauer thought was a precedence of style over substance in rock music, Eat Your Birthday Cake “indie rock about youth, summers, friends and a fear of the suburbs. Inspired by an infatuation with the music of Jens Lekman, Brian Eno, and Lou Reed to name a few, Bill and Marc began collaborating in early 2008 and their sound continues to evolve. A healthy dose of humor, irony, and honesty pervade their infectious melodies, many of which can be heard on their inaugural release, "I Know You Can".
