Biography

Mandy Ebel is a brand new emerging artist who is PASSIONATE about "GOOD MUSIC." Her truly unique, and astounding vocals are Mandy's biggest attribute, however it doesn't give it justice to say that her song-writing skills are only "runner up." This girl can write a mean song, and Mandy writes and sings songs that vary from BadAsS Electro-Prog-Rock-Fusion to Sultry Jazzy/Electro/R'n'B/World, and Ambient Acoustic Singer/Songwriter. Hitting up PHAT bass lines, intricate rythms, and catchy song arrangements, Mandy's tunes hit those spots in all the right places to send those shivers down your spine. However with such satisfying music, Mandy still takes a stand to sing about what genuinely makes up her soul, whether it be a personal experience, world issues, interaction scenarios, nature or spirituality, and she often expresses more-so abstract ideas that often are breezed past upon in an industry that has regular "standards". Musically speaking, Mandys smooth fusion of genres creates one BIG sound that has never been heard.... and it'll hit you like a bomb!
Recently, Mandy was chosen in 2008, along with 10 other "Outstanding Music Graduates" in Canada, to receive a prestigious National Music Award, called the "Fred Sherrat Award", by which MusiCan and CARAS ( Canadian Association of Recording Arts and Sciences) presented along with Founder of CTV Globe Media, Fred Sherrat. Mandy was elected for such an award due to her outstanding efforts, impressive vocal and songwriting skills, musical abilities, which became obvious throughout her time spent completing the Contemporary Music and Technology Program at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC, where Mandy currently is based. Mandy achieved her Vocal Performance Diploma and is currently studying Recording Engineering at the College and writing new material with her band, "Opal- Stone", as well as recording various solo projects and demos. This summer of 2008 Mandy released as EP of her songs, and played various local solo gigs at bars, festivals and restaurants. Mandy thrives off of new experiences and always appreciates collaborating, and learning whatever she can from other cultures, lifestyles, and techniques to make her music bring the people togetha...
This coming spring, when Mandy graduates, she has plans to move bigger, in hopes to land a record deal, and continue with performing, writing, and recording. Opportunity is calling, and this gal has no choice, but to answer. With over 17 years of playing music, be it piano, drums, guitar, vocals, or writing...Mandy is ready to take it where it needs to go, and create a listening experience that has never been done!

Lyrics

Kleidoscope

Written By: Mandy Ebel

Zooming in through a Kleidoscope.
Into the mind, every turn and every bind.
Tracing the thought patterns and movement portrayed,
Throughout her moments, from day to day.

She's reaching, she's seeking,
and shoving and covering her heart.
But it craves to be ripped apart.

A million desires on her wish list to accomplish.
Full fledged, absorbed, into her fetish.
Lonely for love and committed affection.
Can't place her finger on a concrete attraction.

Attraction curves her attention in so many directions.
Caressing her desires, unsustainable confection.

Changing her mind. Never finding her spine.
An endless circle she's in, but so far she can spin.
Strong from her head rooting down to her feet.
In control, wild and free, like honey so sweet.

Strong from her head rooting down to her feet.
In control, wild and free, like honey so sweet.
Tresures untold what one would find if they just took the time,
to see what makes up her kind.
Zooming in, through a Kleidoscope, this girl, this woman through this swirl.
Zooming in through a Kleidoscope this girl this woman through this swirl.
Zooming in... through this swirl
Zooming in... through this swirl

Saved

Written By: Mandy Ebel

Saved
VERSE 1
I don’t think I’ll ever find the truth about life,
And the world, in which I live.
A question’s always screaming in my head,
And the answer continually falling from a cliff.

VERSE 2
How can I be expected to live in a world,
I know no the ending to?
Whether it all ends up perfect, is unclear in my mind.
I really don’t, I just don’t have a clue.

CHORUS
I never can seem to figure out, if my heart
If my heart is real.
Or if it came from this world that’s covered in black.
Advertising a fairy tale land.

VERSE 3
Am I who I say I am, or just another person?
Can I win anyway, or is there only one way to the sun?
If I live like a fairy tale, will disappointment be my fill?
If I dress in all black, will fingers be pointing at me?

CHORUS

VERSE 4

The contemplation of such thoughts, I wish to all won’t keep.
Our lives from being free.
Why live, (Why live, why live) with nothing but fear around us.
When all we need, is to open up and see,
That all that surrounds us is beauty.
Just explore, all that makes up you and me.

This Life

Written By: Mandy Ebel

Intro
Spinning, Swirling, Soaring, Falling
High, Low, Feeling a glow.
Eating reused mountains of waste
Eroding our hearts and minds, case by case.

Verse 1
Consuming endlessly, what we’ve been fed.
Until we convert into the dead.
For centuries evolving to what the world is,
Convinced that this life has, run out of fizz.

Chorus
Because really, why live
a life that’s pre-made
and follow fake rules
Watch your passion fade.

Verse 2
How to escape this card board box
to become as spiritually grounded as a rock.
There’s always something that is needed to be said
Yet always infused as heavy burdened lead.

CHORUS

Bridge
God put us here, on earth
For a purpose for a plan (for a purpose for a plan)
What’s the point of living it
When we can’t be our own man.

Verse 3
Don’t listen to me, I’m a sad human.
Follow the wind do what you can.
Forget your possessions, and all of your money.
Live for people,(live for people), let God bring us honey.

CHORUS

Scared Of Home

Written By: Mandy Ebel

VERSE 1
I don’t want to stay, I don’t wanna go back.
My worries so far from here, packed tight, tight in a sack.
Though the days have passed slowly, I’m jumpin’ to the end.
It seems like a moment, of endless deserts its been.

PRECHORUS

I’d lived there all my life,
It was normal for me,
My heart races to go back,
but now it wants to be free.

VERSE
It was a life packed full, of planning and decisions.
And everyone counted, created mounds of confusion.
As much as here as been nothing, its brought peace to my soul.
Knowing life wouldn’t end here, has filled that worrisome, worrisome, worrisome hole.

PRECHORUS

CHORUS

Here I can be free and do my desires,
I can laugh, I can cry, I can fly so much higher.
Because all that I think, and all that I do,
Will have no affect of the future which I will pursue.

PRECHORUS

BRIDGE
Now it’s time to go back, and face reality, and past
The problems all bursting, stretching to get a good cast.
I can’t wait to start a life again, to see those turns and bends in store.
Yet I’m so scared that again those trucs will...rot me to the core.

CHORUS

Something

Written By: Mandy Ebel

Verse 1
A smile flows over me,
As you creep into my mind.
It’s hard not to think of you,
It’s only pleasure in you that I find.

How did you get here?
I didn’t think that this could exist.
It’s just a little freaky baby,
What I feel every time, time that we kiss.

Chorus
The way that you, that you look at me baby,
My mind ain’t goin’ no where,
With something that is so rare.

The way that you, that you touch me honey,
You always send to me,
Something that’s so damn sweet.

Beat break/ interlude

Verse 2
How do you know everything?
What I do, what’s going though my head.
You always pay such attention.
There’s no where else that I’d be instead.

How can I ignore this attraction that’s so strong?
Every time I’m away from you,
every minute is too damn long.

CHORUS

Bridge/Ending
It’s pure satisfaction, that you give to me.
I want to give to you, anything that you please.
All of the little things that you do,
Gets me crazy for you baby,
I think I’m falling for you.

Do You Remember?

Written By: Mandy Ebel and Errol Organs

Verse 1
Been a lot of places.
Seen a lot of faces.
No culture better than another.

Every soul has a mother.
Stealing feelings from each other.
Selfishness taking over.

REPEAT

Chorus
Do you even remember?
What the purpose of living is for?
Do you even remember?
How to feel your heart, from the core?

Verse 2
Driving out the good people.
With expressions that are evil.
Making them a living bait.

Giving props to inspiration.
Lauren Hill, you got it made.
Your soul, it will never fade.

Chorus

Bridge
When your hands are waving in the sky.
And your feet are on the ground.
Man your new taste is getting bland.
With all your new dumb plans.

With your dollar “ruling” the world.
Man I say it’s “ruining” the world.
With your dollar “ruling” the world.
Man I say it’s “ruining” the world.

Chorus

Dorothy Where?

Written By: Mandy Ebel

VERSE 1
This life is a mixed up world, so what are you gonna do.
You want to make up your mind, but no one's there for you.
You don't know where to go, or if you should just go with the flow.
But hold on real tight, just get on the flight.
No point in being oh so low.
CHORUS
Yellow brick road, won't you lead me, to that place that I want to be.
No worries there, only fun to be had, how I want to be there oh so bad.

Looking here, looking there, Dorothy where, oh where.
Oh the Wizard of Oz, what's the secret? Please share.

VERSE 2
You find someone oh so fine, they always seem to be on your mind.
This mutual feeling is always putting you behind.
This loving ecstasy is floating you across the sea.
But just wait and see, cause it ain't gonna be, the thing that's gonna set you free.

CHORUS

GUITAR SOLO

OUTRO
Looking here, looking there, Dorothy where oh where?

REPEAT VAMP
