A Blessing In All Things

Written By: E. Bruce Bushong

Children die before parents do
Such a thing just can’t be true
It should never be this way
I just want the loss to go away

My strong faith has shown me
That things are as they should be
With all of this I still ask why
My mind shuts down and I just cry

(Chorus)
Is there a blessing in all things
Do souls really have wings
I choose to follow my spirit
There’s a blessing, just find it

Where will all this pain lead
At this moment I simply need
For God to show me the way
Just get me through another day

A strange calm has come over me
Through much pain I’ve come to see
That there is a blessing in all things
I know my sons have angel wings

(Chorus)
Is there a blessing in all things
Do souls really have wings
I choose to follow my spirit
There’s a blessing, just find it

(Tag)
There is a blessing in all things
Some day, we’ll all have angel wings

Two Butterflies

Written By: E. Bruce Bushong

Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do

We gave away, balloons today
I started to cry, we said goodbye
Two butterflies

Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do

Through tears each day, I see them play
And in my heart they will always stay
Two butterflies

Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do

(Chorus)
They flew for me
They flew for me
They flew for me
Yes, they flew for me
They flew for me
They flew for me
Landed on my shirt, took away some of the hurt
Thank God for those butterflies

Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do

The raindrops fell, it was flyin’ hell
But the butterflies flew, and I just knew
Two butterflies

Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do

It came to me and now I see
I’m as close as I will ever be
To butterflies

Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do
(Chorus)
They flew for me
They flew for me
They flew for me
Yes, they flew for me
They flew for me
They flew for me
Landed on my shirt, took away some of the hurt
Thank God for those butterflies (Bridge)
They left one evening just to play
Taken from me on that same day
Pain becomes the teacher now
God is guiding me somehow
I found my peace
With two butterflies

(Chorus)
They flew for me
They flew for me
They flew for me
Yes, they flew for me
They flew for me
They flew for me
Landed on my shirt, took away some of the hurt
Thank God for those butterflies

She's The Wrong One

Written By: E. Bruce Bushong

Don’t want to walk, I’ve got to run
No need to talk, she’s the wrong one
Things go so fast, keep movin’ on
Escape my past, she’s the wrong one

(Chorus)
I love ya’ baby but I’ve got to leave
I hope you see that it’s best for me
You used to be it, my favorite habit
But it don’t fit so we’ve got to quit

Learn from mistakes already done
What does it take, she’s the wrong one
But it feels so good, it’s always fun
I wish I could, she’s the wrong one

(Chorus)
I love ya’ baby but I’ve got to leave
I hope you see that it’s best for me
You used to be it, my favorite habit
But it don’t fit so we’ve got to quit

Don’t want to go, and be alone
But I still know she’s the wrong one
But what of me, this number one
Where will I be if she’s the wrong one

(Chorus)
I love ya’ baby but I’ve got to leave
I hope you see that it’s best for me
You used to be it, my favorite habit
But it don’t fit so we’ve got to quit

I finally learned, I think we’re done
No more to yearn, ‘cause she’s the wrong one
Decision made, I’ll miss ya’ hon
Our love will fade ‘cause you’re the wrong one

(Chorus)
I love ya’ baby but I’ve got to leave
I hope you see that it’s best for me
You used to be it, my favorite habit
But it don’t fit so we’ve got to quit

(Tag)
You’re the wrong one, yeah you’re the wrong one
A broken habit that I’ve got to quit

Mirror, Mirror

Written By: E. Bruce Bushong

The mirror told the story of her years
A life that was often filled with tears
Exercise and surgery had aided
But her beauty had still faded

Each line in the reflection had a story
Attached to each gray hair was a worry
The frozen image just stared back at her
Her sad life had just become a blur

Chorus
So she asked;
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Why is life not fair at all
Tell me true
I’ll listen to you
Please mirror mirror tell me what to do

It had started nice those many years ago
A career and marriage with kids to grow
It all collapsed with a cheating spouse
Her life was shattered but she kept the house

Now this single mom made the best of it
She raised her kids and she never quit
The children grew and finally said goodbye
And each morning the mirror had showed time pass by

Chorus
So she asked;
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Why is life not fair at all
Tell me true
I’ll listen to you
Please mirror mirror tell me what to do

With an empty nest she welcomed change
She looked for things to rearrange
In the bathroom things were moved about
When she moved the mirror a card fell out

It read:
“Find your passion and what makes you smile
Chase these things and all the while
Know your happiness will be the prize
Remember dear, the mirror never lies.”

Bridge
She turned it over as she began to cry
The writing was familiar and she knew why
It was her mother’s note from long ago
Just waiting for the right time to show

Tag
So she said:
Thank you mirror for what you have shown
I know that I will never be alone
