Bio

“Look, I betya that’s Mel Gibson’s house!”
Fheeeeew…CRASH!!!
“Oh shoot, I think I hit his car! RUN!”

echO first heard his calling at 16 when he capitalized on a chance to make his own 30-part concert series at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Since then he has made a transformation from being a saxophone prodigy into a compelling singer and songwriter.

In the footsteps of Prince and The Police, echO’s vision was to create a new generation rock band that grooves soul. The band formed in Washington, DC in 2004 when vocalist echO decided to record some songs he had written. Instead of working solo, echO teamed up with former Fourth Man band mate, Chordy, to give the music more depth. echO and Chordy formed a unique relationship as songwriter and producer, challenging each other to keep the ideas fresh.

Urban drum wizard Kevin Rutledge was quickly brought on board to record on echO’s three-song demo titled Dreamworld. The demo later attracted accomplished DC guitarist Scott Hedges.

The first official gig for the newly created band echO was in October 2004. Local cable channel KBN-TV invited echO to headline its music festival which brought in more than a thousand music fans. In January of this year echO made another debut, this time completing their lineup with veteran bassist Teo Lee, performing at Emergenza—an international battle of the bands. At Emergenza echO had an unexpected first-round success.

When echO traveled to L.A. in November, he refused to go home to DC without getting somebody to notice his music. Disenchanted with the industry’s thumbs-down to even accept his demo, echO found himself on his last night in town driving through Beverly Hills with a case full of CDs. He tossed them over the gates of the biggest mansions he could find.

No doubt echO is determined to get his music noticed. (Incidentally, if you have read this far, his determination must be working.)
