Bio

This Chicago based synthpop group have etched a name for themselves in a town more known for its House music than its Synthpop. Frank DeLaMora with long time friend Tony Macias took Echonine to the stage originally as a side project to the rock band Terraforma (which they both played in)

Unmistakably influenced by Depeche Mode, Erasure, and the original Synthpop of the 80’s, Echonine breath new life into a genre that is all but extinct in North America. In an age where modern rock bands have a tinge of electronica, Echonine stays true to it’s roots, and are comfortable along side contemporaries as Ladytron, 120 days, and the Knife.

Echonine quickly got the support of WKQX local producer Jaime Black and became regulars on the Local 101 show. Rapidly Club DJ’s such as Trancid, Tension, and Mr. Bobby caught on, and included them in their sets. Between club performances, underground parties, and bar gigs, Echonine have developed a loyal following.

On the heels of their limited 2nd release Martyr(out of print) Echonine are prepped and ready to release follow up Insomniac. Currently they are shopping for the right label to house them, Echonine are planning to release and Tour in 2008.

Along the way Frank has worked on such notable projects as Disturbs 2000 multi-platinum album The Sickness (Giant), and 2003 John Fiasco’s import remix single of Justine Timberlake’s Cry Me a River (Jive)
