"E.E. Delrey ft. Homeboy Sandman – Hollywood Peroxide"

The concept of this track is what caught me and blew me away. E.E. Delrey and Homeboy Sandman attack skin whitener and its racial undertones along with other media racial social issues on this track. The gritty production makes this a hard-hitting song that has the potential to spark some thought. - Looped Day Dreams

"E.E. Delrey: Featured Artist"

The E.E. stands for EclecticEmcee, and E.E. Delrey strives to be just that, as evidenced by the music, subject matter, delivery and choice of guest on his recent offering, “Hollywood Peroxide,” featured Homeboy Sandman. A cleverly scathing attack against those who engage in rampant lightening and brightening, and those corporate entities and media who promote the practice, “Hollywood Peroxide” is both narrative and cautionary tale, laid smoothly over an E.E. Delrey-produced track that is one part-boom bap, one-part electric audio playground.

For those unaware of the Queens wordsmith, it’s an apt introduction, showcasing E.E. Delrey’s desire to bring his brand of eclecticism to the hip hop table. Keep an eye out for his upcoming release, WHAK-FM, much of which will also feature live instrumentation.

In the meantime, check E.E. Delrey’s Bandcamp page for “Hollywood Peroxide” as well as other offerings, and get to know E.E. Delrey. - Birthplace Magazine

Bio

E. E. DELREY (Eclectic Emcee of the King) is a 23-year-old emcee, producer and songwriter from Queens, New York.

Heavily influenced by the musical student body at LaGuardia High School & SUNY Purchase College respectively, Delrey has foregone the traditional emcee/DJ combination; he instead lays his carefully thought out rhymes over a powerhouse band, bringing to life his soulful, gritty, melody-driven boom-bap production, a sound that has drawn comparison to Digable Planets, Mos Def, and Hip-Hop's most famous band, The Roots.

At the close of 2011, recording began for a debut EP "WHAK-FM," and the 1st official single, "Hollywood Peroxide," was released in March 2012. Featuring Queens' own Homeboy Sandman, the song is "[...] a cleverly scathing attack against those who engage in rampant [skin] lightening and brightening, and those corporate entities and media who promote the practice." Delrey has played venues around NYC such as The Trash Bar, Arlene's Grocery, The Amarachi Lounge, The Five Spot, and Legion, sharing the stage with Consider the Source, Adrienne Mack-Davis, Under the Rasta Influence, Isaac Sawyer and many others.

"WHAK-FM" is due out Summer 2012.
