"Temperamental music with lots of heart and skill"

The Ecology trio plays the temperamental music with lots of heart and skill. Globetrotter Steinar Aadnekvam is still a rare bird in the Norwegian guitarist fauna, and he is no less interesting to follow after this Brazilian declaration. - Dagbladet (Norway)

"A trio that makes music for a parallel world"

The sound of the LP Ecology seems to have been made for a world parallel to our own, more contemplative.
A playful sonic journey that entices the listener to a perception that transcends other senses. - Jornal do Commercio (Brasil)

"A joyous and warm feeling that shines through in every song"

"Heartfelt playing and a warm feeling that shines through in every song. [...] Airy, volatile and cheerful tones with a typical South American exuberant virtuosity on flute and guitar and a rocking double-bass that enchants the ear." - DIG Jazz (Sweden)

Bio

"Planet earth 2014: ever more aware of the collective.Wherever we go we find our home, but we also observe all that which is not right, the emergency of our collective problem. So we reflect on it and we speak about it,because we must."

The Ecology trio is the collaboration between Norwegian/Swedish virtuoso acoustic guitarist Steinar Aadnekvam and two remarkable musicians from Pernambuco, north-eastern Brazil; Walter Areia from the legendary Brazilian Manguebeat group Mundo Livre S/A and the flutist, saxophonist Ivan Do Espirito Santo.

Their 2014 LP "Ecology" (MMYH Records / Plugged) has earned widespread crittical acclaim and the trio has since toured across the Scandinavian coutries and in Brazil.

We meet them all three as composers in this project where playful interplay and sparkling improvisations lead our thoughts to Jazz, but the attentive listener will also find the music rich in typical northeastern Brazilian styles like Baiao, Frevo, Maracatu, Chorinho and even a touch of rock n roll...

With four albums to his name the 30 year old guitarist Steinar Aadnekvam is establishing himself on a high international level throughout Europe and not least in Brazil where he finds his second home for almost a decade and he finds himself in good company alongside the more seasoned Ivan Do Espirito Santo and Walter Areia and who boasts collaborations with artists like Lenine, Tony Allen, Alceu Valenca, Nana Vasconcelos and Arto Lindsay to their curriculum to mention a few.
