Bio
With his roots in Athens, Georgia, Eric Dodd has been a student of songwriting since the age of 15. Eric Dodd and his band have played over a hundred shows in the last two years around the Southeast and are looking to take their popular sounds to the national level. Eric’s southern, soul-filled stories of break-ups, heartache, re-kindling of relationships, freedom, and – finally – hope fill his debut album. The emotional trip of the album is enough to remind even the oldest of souls of the memories of young, raw emotion.
Eric's music has most recently been captivating the attention of fraternities and sororities at UGA and Emory University. The Eric Dodd Band has played at various venues between Athens and Atlanta, including The Georgia Theatre, Tasty World, DT’s Landing, The Sweetwater Brewing Co. and Maggie’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill. They have performed alongside many Georgia musicians such as the Zac Brown Band, the Francisco Vidal Band, Brighter Shade, Mama’s Love, Angie Aparo, The Dead Confederates, and Sonia Leigh. The Band’s shows include his own original music off of his upcoming album but can also include an eclectic mix of covers from artists such as Johnny Cash, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Drive-By Truckers, Sublime, Ray Charles, Stone Temple Pilots, Nelly Furtado, Chamillionaire, and Edwin McCain.
Eric’s debut album, HEAL, is being produced by Atlanta Musical Icon, John Driscoll Hopkins and is slated for release in October of 2007.
