Ed Cawthon 

Hendersonville, TN.

 

A true American success story, in High School, Ed Cawthon placed second in the 1977 Kentucky 155 lb. Wrestling State Championship. In 1981, he graduated with a BSA in Agriculture from Murray State University and qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo in the Bull riding event. Following graduation from Murray, Ed embarked on over a 28 year active duty career in the United States Marine Corps. He also earned two Master Degrees during this time and retired in 2009 as a Colonel. 

 

Since 2011, Ed has been playing out his life experiences in songs. After starting out at NSAI, Ed excelled as a songwriter for Silvercreek Records on Music Row. In 2016, Ed was selected to attend Belmont University, Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business, where he is majoring in Songwriting and will graduate in December 2018 with Honors. Ed is currently active in Operation Song.  His Song, “My Brother Bo”, cowritten with Chuck Jones and Van Booth, was recorded by Chuck Jones and is on the “Stars and Stripes” CD.

 

Ed is a real Country Songwriter who enjoys performing and really knows how to put on a show. His music is diverse, passionate and meaningful and his performance style is uniquely entertaining.
