Bio

I began studying music and singing publicly at the age of eight. I incorporate many influences and styles so it's difficult to cateogrize my indie music within a single genre of music except by my distinctive vocals. My vocals are reminiscent of a young Robin Thicke.

My journey as a solo artist began in 2011 when I performed on live television before a worldwide audience on Saigon Televison. I also entered my first musical competition, the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight awards (open to all high school students in California) and was a semifinalist in the voice category. Later that year I recorded and released my debut EP and began performing under the monker "EJ". During 2012, my band "The Jam Syndicate", comprised of classmates from the Los Angeles High School For the Arts started playing at various music venues in the Los Angeles music scene.

Part of my unique vocal style can be attributed to my background in jazz and gospel music. I am a recent graduate of the Los Angeles County High School For the Arts where I was a member of the award winning vocal jazz ensemble for four years as well as the gospel choir. I have continued my music studies at Mt. San Antoinio College where I am a member of the nationally recogized A Capella and vocal jazz ensembles.

I have lots of experience playing live. Highlights include singing backups for Barry Manilow at the Los Angeles Music Center's Ahmanson Theater and Josh Groban at Walt Disney Concert Hall. As a solo artist I have performed at the World famous House of Blues (Hollywood) and Club Nokia at LA Live. I also performed at the last three Monterey Jazz Festivals (2010 - 2012) as a member of the Los Angeles High School For the Arts vocal jazz ensemble.
