"Canadian Musician Showcase - July 11, 2005"

"Produced by ex-Joydrop member Tom McKay, Eden Ants six-song EP, hole.punch.litter, invade pop territory with some adventure. From the quirky plea of "Moving Out" to the standouts (and potential hits) of killer stomps "Advertisements" and "Some Hope For Us", the band is all-out fun. They cut the six songs at Rob Ender's KingSpin Studios, a residential loft where neighbours weren't too pleased with the "noise," and McKay then asked his friend, New York-based Mark Plati (David Bowie, The Cure, Prince), to mix it. Call it perfect picnic pop."

"Testimonial - October 11, 2005"

"The band came down from Canadia to my humble little gearpit in the once grimy, still congested East Village in NYC. We sped through a bucket of tunes in practically no time, such was our connection. I think their music has a great mix of attitude and humility, funk and punk, intelligence and guts. They have loads of groovy ideas and plenty of little twists and turns, which I think are a necessity in todays' climate of disposable, just-add-water-then-discard pop music. Besides, they gave me a t-shirt!"

"NOW Magazine - September 8, 2005"

"Want to hear something perverted? Now that you've taken the bait, you know why Toronto-based Eden Ants load this disc up with crunchy pop hooks. Once you got 'em hooked, all that's left to do is reel 'em in. Founded by the Ender brothers, who made their band into a svelte pop rock outfit, the four-piece does whatever it takes to grab your attention. The song Advertisements starts with a gasp, then clobbers you with sincerity as the band put themselves on the shelves, using marketing to discuss romance." Rating: NNN

"Ryerson University Eyeopener – November 16, 2005"

"If you haven't heard of the new band Eden Ants, you probably don't get out much. The foursome recently received their first recording offer, but Eden Ants doesn't want to jump into bed with the first record label that offers it, Adymm says. "I kind of like being the underdog. I feel like I still have a lot to learn. Every day, every show, every song is just another stepping stone.... I'm in no real rush. I realize how far we've gotten and I also know how much further I want to get before I declare myself ready for the next step."

"Ryerson University Eyeopener - January 10, 2006"

On reflection of 2005: "If bands like Cuff the Duke and Metric weren't enough to satisfy your musical palate, then surely the sounds of Rye students-turned-fearless-self-promoters Eden Ants must've rocked your socks off. Please report to a doctor if they didn't."

"Mississauga News - September 1, 2006"

"For some bands, the more they worry about what the media and hipsters think about their music, the more they try to cater to them. In the case of four-piece band Eden Ants, which takes to the stage at The Duke of Marlborough tonight for the final Beating Heart Festival After Party of the summer, the group chooses to ignore what others say. The band's sound is described as a mix of Bowie and The Clash, with liberal amounts of laundry detergent jingles thrown in for good measure. 'Lyrically, I think it's really important to decipher the modern-day consumer culture. Art has become a very disposable medium, including music, and I think it's important to confront (that reality) rather than pretend it doesn't exist', said Ender."

"Toonage @ INDIE WEEK Finals - October 13, 2007"

"Alt-rockers Eden Ants took the stage third. Complete with leather jacket, skinny jeans and sunglasses, lead singer Adymm Ender played the role of rock star well, climbing atop amps and dancing his way around the stage."

"CANADA.COM – July 3, 2007"

“Twelve independent Canadian rock acts have been chosen to compete in an online battle of the bands for a cash prize and a spot on the Virgin Festival stage. A panel of celebrity judges, including Virgin mogul Sir Richard Branson and The Tragically Hip’s Johnny Fay, picked the finalists from about 60 entries to Canadian ContraBand at Heavy.com.

West Coast band Prox missed making the top 12 by just one point, trailing Eden Ants of Toronto. Judges were split on the Eden Ants video, which mostly shows members of the band visiting the Virgin Festival site to sacrifice a fish. 'I liked the concept,' said Alan Cross, program director at radio station 102.1 The Edge. The winner will receive $5000, marketing support from Warner Music Canada and a performance slot at Toronto's second annual Virgin Festival on Sept. 8-9.”

"IndieCan Music - March 30, 2007"

“POP with Brains is a clever art community celebration that includes photo exhibits, fine art and other tasteful exhibitors with fabulous music for the night's sound track. On Friday March 23, Eden Ants released their new EP to a sold-out crowd on a bill that included Spiral Beach. Eden Ants front-man, Adymm Ender, was delighted at the turn out and the opportunity to raise money for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, as Adymm says, '…an organization that's work is near, dear and well known to the art community.'"

"Chart Magazine @ NXNE - June 10, 2004"

"The swaggeringly enthusiastic frontman" & the "group kept on rockin' so hard, many pieces of equipment - mic stands, cymbal stands, et cetera - kept falling apart throughout their set. Still, they soldiered on through a number of edgy post-punk melodies, ... rocking out with unconventional instruments and plenty of funky samples. Progressing well towards world domination."

"edgy post-punk" - CHART MAGAZINE

Toronto's art-spiked EDEN ANTS fuse indie rock with post-punk and pop, composing a sound that is unpredictable, idiosyncratic, and totally charming. The quintet's 2005 release, “hole.punch.litter” EP, was hailed as "perfect pop" by Canadian Musician and "svelte crunchy pop rock that clobbers you with sincerity" by NOW Magazine. This March, Eden Ants launched their follow-up “Take What You Want” EP to a sold-out crowd at The Rivoli. The anticipated new disc was produced/mixed by NYC super duo Macchiato Kids (David Bowie/The Cure/Talking Heads/Brazilian Girls) and features guest keyboards by Dave Fingaz Williams (K-OS).

In the heat of it all, EDEN ANTS continue to host their own very successful bi-monthly residency at The Rivoli entitled Pop with Brains, a showcase event featuring the best independent bands and D.I.Y. artists in Toronto and beyond while raising charity scratch for CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health). EDEN ANTS are currently promoted on-air by EDGE 102.1 Toronto, Q104 Halifax, CHRY 105.5 York, CIUT 89.5 Toronto, CKMS 100.3 Waterloo and their busy website, www.edenants.com, which receives more than 1000 visits and 500 song downloads per month.

Founded in 2000 by the Montreal-born Ender brothers, EDEN ANTS is fronted by the swaggeringly enthusiastic Adymm Ender on vocals, lead guitarist & support vocalist Rob Ender, the hard-hitting drummer in the city Ryan MacMaster, Joe False on bass, and new addition guitarist Wolfgang Miller. With cultivated influences including David Bowie, The Clash, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, The Dears and Relaxed Muscle, the relentless group have tailored a distinctive style that balances street-savvy rock n roll with gutsy pop. EDEN ANTS recognize that the best way to see the future is to invent it. Though the future may be a scary place, they're prepared for any possible outcome. Except this one: an End.
