Bio
Edith Blade is a new four-piece rock band from Chicago. The band was formed by frontman/songwriter Michael Vaillancourt in late 2008, and is comprised of members Wes Hayden (guitar/vocals), Patrick Dovichi (bass/vocals), Brian Stanley (drums/synths) and Michael Vaillancourt (lead vocals).
The band's integration of inorganic sounds (such as synths and programmed drums) into a traditional hard rock layout sets them apart from their peers. That inhuman presence in their music lends a mechanical chill to Vaillancourt's plaintive lyrics and the haunted grooves provided by the rest of the band. Edith Blade made their official live debut in February 2009 to a near sold-out crowd at Chicago's legendary rock venue the Double Door, and word of mouth has spread quickly about the band, owing to their formidable stage presence and memorable live set.
The band is currently in the studio recording their debut album "AnathemA" with producer Garret Hammond(Prick/Kill Hannah). The album is set for release in Autumn of 2010, which will coincide with a brief live tour of the midwest.
