Edith Tamayo comes from Sinaloa, Mexico, her musical roots are deeply engraved in the sounds of her home, the music of the indigenous pmusic of the indigenous people the Mayos, Yaquis and Seris, and the dance of the polka to the sound of the trumpets, tuba and clarinets from the Banda Sinaloense.

Biography

Edith Tamayo comes from Sinaloa, Mexico, a state surrounded on one side by the pacific ocean and on the other the majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre. Her musical roots are deeply engraved in the sounds of her home, the music of the indigenous people the Mayos, Yaquis and Seris, and the dance of the polka to the sound of the trumpets, tuba and clarinets from the Banda Sinaloense.
Now living in Copenhagen, Denmark, Edith Tamayo is the leader of the band Latincacao, that combines the traditional Mexican with afro-latinamerican and indigenous music.
