Biography

Having had his fill of mainstream monotony, born and bred Brooklynite, Edson Sean, is on a mission to bring authentic musicality back to the forefront.

Edson Sean’s video for “Stupid Me” is currently in rotation on VH1 Soul.  This first effort from his upcoming album “The Pursuit of Magic” is preparing the public for next thing in Hip Hop Soul. Edson has been influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Eric Roberson to Big Daddy Kane and The Roots.   He has seamlessly combined old school Hip Hop sensibilities with a classic soulful feel that creates a refreshingly new yet familiar sound.

Edson is not new to the music scene. In 2009 he was chosen by Jazz at Lincoln Center and the State Department to be an American Music Ambassador. Along with follow R&B singer Shantel Jackson, Rapper Chris Rel and DJ Pretty Nyce(Pierre Aime) the quartet travelled to 6 West African countries to bridge the cultural gap through music and soft diplomacy.  Not only does Edson sing, he also plays a myriad of instruments ranging from piano, drums, guitar and the djembe. Under the Omni Blaize moniker, Edson released 2 Hip Hop albums and another 2 with his Soul/Alternative band 2 Shades Darker.
