Terry Premru...
Terry began playing guitar in 1967 at the age of 10. His first teacher Sam Maratos in Clearwater, FL did not use a pick but instead played "fingerstyle" songs such as "Spanish Eyes" on a pre-war Martin dreadnaught. This was the first of 3 fingerstyle guitar influences, and this one was right off the bat.
A couple years later Terry bought a Les Paul deluxe influenced by Dickey Betts, then later a Stratocaster influenced by Richie Blackmore. Then came fingerstyle guitar influence #2 - Steve Howe of Yes playing "Mood for a Day". Next he bought a classical guitar and started to self study a Segovia classical guitar book.
In 1995 he bought his first steel string acoustic guitar and started to teach guitar lessons part time in local music store. One day a student handed over a CD “Acoustic Beatles Songs” by Greg Bennett - the light-bulb went off (influence #3) and the journey thru fingerstyle guitar was on again. Nowadays the guitar influences and favorites include: Sal DiToria, Pete Huttlinger, Mark Hanson, Laurence Juber, Gregg Bennett, Eric Schoenbrg, Gregg Carmichael, Tommy Emmanuel, Jesse Cook, Ottmar Liebert.
