Bio

The past number of months has been an amazing whirlwind of activity for singer/songwriter Zach Raizman. Traveling between New York and Los Angeles numerous times to perform, meet with industry people, and to record his new CD, Zach also finds the time to return to his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to visit family and friends. All of these opportunities fuel Zach’s energy as a performer.

Many people recognize Zach from his years in musical theater, performing in everything from “Oliver” and “Footloose” to “The Lion King” and “Seussical: The Musical”. Zach has also lent his talents as a performer to benefit concerts such as for War Child Canada, Cancer Care Manitoba, and The Lance Armstrong Foundation, as well as to many other gala charities and fundraisers. You may have even seen him on
national television as a featured entertainer on CKY, CHUM, CITY TV, or in commercials for the highly successful K-TEL Pops CD.

Amid the hours it takes to prepare for school, auditions, rehearsals, vocal lessons, and acting workshops, Zach still finds the time to work on his music, on his own terms, performing at venues like The Fringe Festival, Red River Ex, Academy Coffee House, The San Diego Fair, Castle Park, and The Callaway Junior World Golf Championship.

Canadian Idol finalist, Rob James (McMaster & James), has been a good friend, mentor, and vocal coach to Zach over the last year or so.

“Zach’s a natural performer,” comments Rob. “We have a lot of fun together, yet when we work, he’s totally focused and absorbs everything.”

After the release of several singles and EP’s, Zach hand picked Juno Award Winning producer, Brandon Friesen, to help him craft his first full length CD, “A Mind To Be Thinkin’”, which was released in early 2008.

Zach recently finished writing and recording in Los Angeles with producer Michael Raphael. As a producer, Michael has worked with a variety of up-and-coming young artists and just completed two projects for Columbia/Sony Music. He has worked side-by-side with legendary producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne), and co-wrote and produced songs on hit CD’s for Busted and Son of Dork.

As preparations get underway for Zach’s new CD release and live performances, there is no stopping this high energy performer.
