Bio

Does any really good artist know who he’s gonna be by 6th grade? Josh Pizur goes by the rap name EG. I knew it after picking up my very first CD’s: Everlast White Ford Sings tha Blues, Doc Dre - Cronik 2001, and Sugar Ray. I knew at that moment, listening to those CD’s, that I was hooked on being a rapper. I wrote my first song on paper in the fall of 2001 – sixth grade. It was also the start of my dream to become a professional rapper.
People speculate about how I gain the rap name EG. This is the true how I come upon my name. When I was younger, in the development stage in life for me was difficult to understand and always a little off. I had way too much energy and not a lot of place to channel it. This caused way too many problems for me. I found myself getting into more trouble, than good. People would be always saying to my parents, “Why does he choose to do more evil, than good?” It’s not like I wanted those things to happen, they just did. That made me think, if I take the first letters of the words Evil or Good, I would have EG.
My first real leap into my career started all over a book report for English while going to high school. I realized that I was not very good at writing reports, so I convinced my teacher to let me do the book report in rap lyric so that it would count as my book report. The book was called Ender’s Game. Long story, short, I got an A+. I also got dared to enter it in the schools pops concert. This was my first stage performance. Talk about being hyped. I thought I was in an Eminem 8-mile video. The lights went down, the music started, and the next thing I heard was the crowd screaming. By the time I finished, I had a standing ovation of about 200 people. My performance was the highlight of the night. I guess there never was a time I didn’t think of myself as being EG. My mom even tattooed EG on to her ankle because she even believed in me, that I would make success someday.
The hardest hurdle was to get over the fact that I am a middle-class white-boy country setting being brought up in a KKK-hick town. I could not take all the bull sh$*. I thought I didn’t have a lot to say because of this, but was I wrong. I pulled words for songs from the strangest places. Whether it was getting in trouble with the law, having family arguments, or about a very serious car accident of one of my ex-girlfriends (My Callie Girl), I found the words flowed from everywhere, if you just listened. I just wanted a new way of life, and my music was my way out. That is when I realized that love-is-love, sex-is-sex, and difficulties are difficulties no matter where you live. I realize that everyone comes with a past, or is trying to find hope for the future. Just like I realize that life is not always easy. What I do know to be true is that it is very important to have a dream to follow an not act it out. Having friends that can stand behind you in good or bad times.
This insight kept me writing and producing great music over and over. But I have to say my heart goes out to the streets of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for this is where I really live.
My style in music is different from that of other rap artists. I am told that I have a bit of country twang. No surprise there. That is why my music tends to be more of a chech and down-to-earth. I like to write about the truths of life, so I live it out through my words. What I like about writing and performing my music is that I can help inspire a lot of people through difficult times. I even realize that I could end up being someone’s role model, so when I create my music, I think about this too. It’s taken me a long time to get where I am in my music, but all this has helped me figure out who I am. My real inspiration comes from everyone who has ever made it big. I love to feed off their passion for life.
So I have a new album coming out called DOING IT 4 ME, you can pick up the JOHN DOE albums on Itunes.
