Eight Page

Eight Page

BandAlternativeRock

Original Alt. Pop/Rock band performing genuinely emotive songs with surprising originality and musicianship while still being rooted accessibly in the genre. Has opened for NEMO/Starbucks Award winner Mieka Pauley, Boston pop punkers Move In Stereo, and will be appearing on UNregular Radio in Oct.

Biography

Formed in early 2010, Eight Page has quickly developed into something special. After several years performing as a solo acoustic singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist for the cover band Fear Liston, Chris Masson enlisted his longtime friend and drummer Jared Fredette, laying the foundation for an original electric rock band. Soon they were joined by Tom Bailey, a solid yet highly creative bassist who both anchors and expands the band’s unique sound. Eight Page’s final member, reuniting with Chris from their cover band that bared his namesake, is Neil Liston, a poignantly understated lead guitarist who isn’t afraid to share the musical spotlight. Together they started to play at local venues in southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In the summer of 2010, Eight Page opened for NEMO/Starbucks Emerging Artist Award winner Mieka Pauley, and in 2011 have opened twice for Move In Stereo, an up-and-coming pop-punk band from Boston. Eight Page recently recorded their first single "Equinox" at Chris' studio in North Attleboro and will be appearing on UNregular Radio in October.

STYLE:
Chris' songwriting combines the craftsmanship and emotional resonance of bands like Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, and Incubus, and singer/songwriters like Paul Simon, John Mayer, and Jack Johnson with the tried and true sensibilities of classic rockers such as Steely Dan and Pink Floyd, as well as some of the indie sensibilities of artists like Fleet Foxes, making for a unique yet broadly likeable sound.

Lyrics

Equinox

Written By: Chris Masson

V-I:
Ya Send me slow/ walk away/ time well it tells/ everyone
Time/so you wait/ for me/ don’t go there come back please everyone/ sit around gather round let it hit ya lie
While you bath in wine/ and form your opinion
It’s clear what you know/ and where it is that you should go
Oh so/ do what you can/ while you can
While your strong enough/ to make it on your own
Long before you know it you’ll be gone

Chorus:I
Shapes in the sky earth & water below
The son of man came ripped up and destroyed this place
7 devils cast one for each day
You walk straight into hell with a smile on your face
So it begins

V-II:
It sends a shiver up and down your spine
Through the halls to the back rooms of your mind
Where you wait/ for someone to save you
Tell yourself everything's ok/Burn down the woods
And then run away/ just a fool you’re a blind man
You should be beaten on display
Feast your eyes on the prize/ Greedy pig
Know one ever stopped to think that maybe things
Are meant to be the way that they are
Eventually you’ll see

Chorus:II
Shapes in the sky earth & water below
The son of man came / ripped up and destroyed this place
7 devils cast one for each day
You walk straight into hell with a smile on your face

Bridge intro:The seduction of man well its come to face
Bridge: It’s a planetary/ configuration
Intersecting the moment/ where the equinox sprung
And the angels still cry/ hale a fire from above
And then son of man stands to be judged (x 2)

Chorus:III
Shapes in the sky earth & water below
The son of man came ripped up and destroyed this place
7 devils cast one for each day
You walk straight into hell with a smile on your face
So it begins
