Bio
EIYN SOF ('eye' with an 'n', 'soft' without the 'T')
a kabbalistic term roughly translated as "I can see no end".
Eiyn Sof is Melissa Boraski, a born writer and singer who became a contemporary gospel singer in her late teens, defected from the Church in her early 20's, and has played guitar in numerous bands since then. With former bands, she's shared stages in and around Toronto with awesome acts such as The Sadies, Blue Rodeo, and Wilco.
Eiyn Sof's soon-to-be-released debut full-length record, 'Bloodstreams', was home-recorded and self-produced, and blends elements of country, folk, and pop with shimmers of vocal experimentations.
Guests include Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco, Freakwater) on pedal steel, and Katie Iarrocci (The Saffron Sect) on vibraphone, piano and flute.
It's currently being mixed by Rick White (RickWhiteAlbum, The Unintended, Elevator, Eric's Trip).
Similar artists and influences include Judee Sill, Neko Case, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Vetiver, Dawn McCarthy, and Tanya Tagaq.
